Indian-origin MP Chandra Arya files nomination for Canadian PM’s race

Chandra Arya, a member of parliament for Nepean of Indian descent, has formally entered the race for prime minister of Canada after submitting her nomination and speaking in Kannada to the House.
Born in Karnataka’s Tumkur district, Arya completed his MBA at Dharwad before relocating to Canada.
He declared his intention to run for prime minister of Canada earlier this week.
Justin Trudeau, the prime minister of Canada, recently announced his resignation but promised to stay in office until a successor is chosen.
“Our country has structural problems that need difficult fixes. On January 13, he posted on the social media site X, “To ensure prosperity for our children and grandchildren, we must make audacious political decisions.”
Arya has already declared that he will run for the Liberal leadership with a campaign pledged to make the nation “a sovereign republic” with audacious political decisions, which are now required rather than optional. He is criticizing Khalistan supporters for celebrating the assassination of late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and denouncing the vandalism of Hindu temples in Canada.
On X, Arya, who External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar characterized as a true supporter of India, wrote, “I am running to be the next Prime Minister of Canada to lead a small, more efficient government to rebuild our nation and secure prosperity for future generations.”
It will take difficult decisions to solve the serious structural issues we are facing, which have not existed for generations. I have always worked hard for the best interests of Canadians, and we need to make bold decisions that are absolutely necessary for the sake of our children and grandchildren. I offer my knowledge and experience to lead the Liberal Party if elected,” his post stated.
Arya, who met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi in August of last year, acknowledged that the country is experiencing a “perfect storm,” saying that many Canadians, particularly the younger generations, struggle with affordability. Many working families are retiring straight into poverty, and the working middle class is having a hard time right now.
According to Arya, India is a sizable and expanding market for Canadian investments and exports, and it is a vital source of “our critical talent needs.”
“Canada needs leaders who do not hesitate to take bold decisions. choices that secure prosperity for our children and grandchildren, rebuild our economy, rekindle hope, and give all Canadians equal opportunities. Making bold political choices is essential; it is not an option. “I am stepping forward to take on this responsibility and lead Canada as its next Prime Minister,” he stated, “with caution and pragmatism as my guiding principles.” (IANS)
